Rachel is a mediator and the owner of Firefly Mediation, which is operated as part of her law practice, Mentz Law, P.C., a law firm based in Boulder, Colorado.

Rachel completed her mediation certificate through COBAR-CLE with Judy Mares-Dixon in 2023 after litigating and participating in mediation as an attorney for over fourteen years.  In addition to mediating through Firefly Mediation, Rachel volunteers as a mediator with the City of Boulder Community Mediation and Resolution Center.

Rachel's law practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on resolving highly contentious and complex business disputes. Rachel also has personal experience working through many family law issues after being divorced and having to navigate custody and decision-making issues.  As a mother and stepmother, Rachel appreciates the importance of working with a mediator who understands the challenges of being a parent and the need for realistic and practical agreements that focus on what is in the best interest of the children.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Boulder County Bar Association and is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association, and Colorado W.O.L.F. (Women Owned Law Firms).

A native of Michigan, Rachel also lived in France, Spain, Louisiana, and New Hampshire before making Colorado her home in 2007.  Rachel lives with her family in Boulder, where she is an avid Rocky Mountain organic gardener.
